God's calling is to be good

The calling of God is to be good in our day to day life. If we see our lives then we will find that life gives us ample of opportunities where we can show and express the goodness that is within us all the time. To be good to oneself and to others is to be walking in the path of righteousness and godliness. And God’s calling for us is to be holy and to be good. He says I am Holy, so you also become holy so that you can walk with Me and rightly called the children of God. So in everyday life, in whatever situation we come across we must ask ourselves am I acting out of goodness and justice or am I acting in a way that is not good. We must ask ourselves, “Am I being arrogant or rude to the other person? Can I talk more gently, can my words be comforting to the other?” and so on. If at any situation it is within our power to help someone else then we must not hold ourselves back to do it without any genuine and just reason. It doesn’t take much to be good in our day to day life, but the effect it produces is very soul touching and heart warming. It also improves the love and affection that we have among ourselves. So when it is the calling of God for us to be good and holy, should we not act on it in our lives on a daily basis?
