Do not depend upon others perceptions

Published:Feb 1, 2019

Generally what happens is that we value ourselves and derive satisfaction from how others perceive and value us. So in order to be seen as a success and gain status in society we do and possess many things that may not be actually necessary for us to do or have. For example, we may own high priced gadgets or vehicles so as to gain some special status in the eyes of the people even though we may not need those expensive items. It is possible that sometimes we may not even have the required amount of budget or money to afford those things, but just for the sake of having them we purchase anyway by means of EMIs or loans. Even if we had the money to afford them, we misuse money by purchasing things we simply don’t need. Those money could have been utilised in some other way or donated in charity for people in need. So if you can just do one simple thing you will be able to save yourself from a lot of unnecessary problems, activities and expenditures in life. And what is that simple thing? Do not place your happiness and worthiness on how others perceive you and think about you, but derive happiness from what God will think of you.
